About Hillside Design
Michael Beardsall, BSC (Hons), C.Eng, FIStructE, a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers is the owner and driving force of Hillside Design. Having graduated in 1978 with a degree in Building Engineering, Michael worked within a number of firms of consulting engineers, some of international standing before forming his own practice in 1990. In 2004 Michael decided to take a new challenge and a change in direction to pursue his long-held interest in landscape design including particular buildings and structures constructed in that environment.
Hillside Design was formed in 2005 to provide a one-stop design service to incorporate many integrated facets of the built and growing environment.
Once the designs are completed, we can provide Project Management Services including:
- Where necessary making statutory applications on behalf of our clients. This may be planning applications, listed building applications, applications to the Environment Agency etc.
- Prepare tender documents and issue these on selected contractors and/or suppliers
- Prepare formal contracts between our clients and the chosen contractor
- Provide post contract support including works inspections through to completion on site.
Our services are sometimes supplemented by the use of carefully selected sub contractors and suppliers.
